Sub-project:
Data Acquisition Prototype

Status Report

Notes from the Phoenix IEEE lab, 2009/01/17

Recruiting
  no activity

Lab is locked up for Christmas break
Sometimes they show up to let us in, sometimes not.

Timer on COTS monitors
I wrote a paper on the Microlife monitor + timer
Put on web site for Dr. Halberg to make a reference to in one of his papers.

Put time lapse photography timer on wrist monitor, fails.
William is investigating (characterizing the timer & monitor)
Steven James designed a new 555-based timer
tested on one arm cuff monitor - works, but now making modifications to the circuit
     next test on wrist monitor
get William to built another, got the BOM

Dr. Halberg wrote to Hiroshi in A&D to let them know what we're doing
goal is to get A&D interested, see if they'll make a product

Sensors - optoelectronic
Purchased a commercial pulse-ox monitor in December to examine its sensor
I did a cursory examination, strange results
Described what we have so far to Vince and Mike Callaghan at lunch
Vince interested in getting to the lab to work on it
Mike interested in "remote office" in San Diego

Looking for a basic prototyping kit - breadboards, components, etc.
Looking for op amps for instrumentation amplifier
Looking for microcontroller programming system
