IEEE Clinical Care Support Systems (CCSS) Study Group

The purpose of our group is to...

Simple answer: ...find ways to improve care in the U.S. and help provide a partial solution to healthcare in developing countries where doctors are scarce.

Long answer: ...study open source standards and systems designed to help clinicians (i.e. doctors, nurses, etc.) monitor and treat their patients and to find ways to improve CCS Systems and the rate of adoption of CCS Systems.  We will also assist in the development of open source software where appropriate as part of this goal. 

Our sister project is the Phoenix project.  The goal of the Phoenix project is to develop an extremely low cost open-source blood pressure monitor for use in developing countries.
